Construction Update: DOCS Surgical Hospital, Los Angeles

Active interior fit-out continues at the new fifteen-bed surgical specialty hospital. Completion remains targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.

The DOCS Surgical Hospital project at 6000 San Vicente Boulevard in Los Angeles continues to track on schedule. The replacement facility, a fifteen-bed surgical specialty hospital with four operating rooms and a full imaging suite, is now in active interior fit-out. This is the first in a quarterly construction update series; subsequent updates will be published as material milestones are achieved.

I. SITE PROGRESS

Per the project's most recent sponsor update from Dr. Khawar Siddique, CEO of DOCS Health and DOCS Surgical Hospital, the project's status as of mid-April 2026 is as follows.

• Exterior envelope: substantial progress on curtainwall installation and the stone façade across the north, south, east, and west elevations.

• First-floor slab on grade: complete.

• Third- and fourth-floor framing: complete.

• Overhead MEP, third and fourth floors: Swinerton has commenced installation of overhead ducting, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

• Second- and fifth-floor framing: scheduled to follow in sequence.

• Porte cochere: erected.

The project's general contractor is Swinerton. The construction program remains on its underwritten thirty-month timeline.

II. WHAT THE FACILITY WILL DELIVER

The DOCS Surgical Hospital is a fifteen-bed surgical specialty hospital with four operating rooms, a full imaging suite featuring MRI, CT, and X-ray capability, and a rooftop healing garden. Clinical focus areas include orthopedic surgery, spine and neurosurgery, pain management, and rehabilitation, anchored by a physician-owned operator group. The new facility replaces an existing surgical hospital on the same site; the existing facility continues to operate and will be retired in phases as the replacement comes online. The hospital is located in central Los Angeles, 1.5 miles from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and 1.4 miles from the existing DOCS Health outpatient facility.

III. LOOKING AHEAD

The next construction update will be published in August 2026 and will report on operating-room fit-out progress, façade close-out, and the status of any licensure or certification milestones reached during the intervening period.
